2008/02/05 ALOHA EVERYONE ~! Thank you for getting in touch with us ~ we appreciate hearing from you~! We apologize profusely for not updating our website sooner. We were out of the country from Christmas 2006 - Easter 2007. Then time just got away from us with teaching schedules, clients, unexpected happenings and family events ~ whew~! We had a lovely Student Study Tour through Thailand in 2007 ~ a great time was had by all. Everyone had experiences, adventures and education to last a lifetime. And it changed a few lives for the better along the way. We studied and received several hours of massage daily ~ in many forms and styles. Swimming in waterfalls, riding elephants, sampling the local fresh foods, shopping until we dropped and boating on rivers and oceans everywhere ~ ahhhh such a life~! Also ~ we were able to raise some more funds ~ another $2,000 ~ for the orphans of Phi Phi Island and present them while we were there. It has been greatly appreciated ~ and a heartfelt thanks to all of you who have contributed. Every little bit has counted and means so much. Charlie Teacha and his wife Rattanaporn have committed themselves to insuring the upkeep and education of these children through college ~ a daunting prospect ~ especially since the youngest child was only 2 months old when the tsunami hit. So anything you would like to do to help these children would be very welcome. We took a detour through Australia on our way home. What a country~! It really is not like all of the travel and nature shows portray ~ actually it is much more beautiful than that. The Formula One race in Melbourne was an adventure ~ but it is never quite the complete experience being a spectator instead of a participant, I am afraid. The highlight of our Aussie Tour was staying with our friends ~ Wendy and Graeme Stoney of Stockyard Creek. They have an enormous homestead ranch in the beautiful National Eucalyptus Rain Forest just below Mt. Bullar, in southern Australia. If you ever saw the movie "The Man from Snowy River" and its sequel "Return to Snowy River" ~ then you saw their ranch. Graeme was riding his horse all through the movies. And their good friend and neighbor was the head horseman and between the two of them provided the horses for the filming. They regularly have bunkhouse groups who come to participate in riding, cattle roundups and more, if you are ever interested in a visit back in time. Great food too~! Wendy still cooks incredible gourmet meals on a wooden stove - wow~! The Australian rain forests have captured my imagination ~ and the penguins of Phillip Island have captured my heart~! The Aussies are a happy, easygoing people who love their outdoors and their fresh, wonderful food. There wasn't anyplace we went that we didn't want to spend more time. We are taking time out of our teaching schedule this year to complete our educational videos and workbooks. Our first is coming out in February 2008. It feels something like birthing a baby. Also Teri is working daily on her other publications. Watch for upcoming notices ~ as our goal is to get more of these publications out by springtime~! |
